Have you considered creating and using an AI headshot? AI is increasingly being used in the creative arts, and its ability to create images from a simple written description truly is amazing (although it does have its flaws, sometimes with humorous results). We’ve been exploring how to create your best DIY headshot, and an AI headshot is a recent innovation that many people are turning to as they try to put their best face forward online.
An AI Headshot example
Dan came in for a headshot because his business is growing and he wanted great headshots to promote his new venture. Before he had the time to get headshots, he used AI to create one for LinkedIn. He said it was just a placeholder until he could get professional headshots.
Above is the image created by AI. He said he could tell that AI had given him a larger forehead that was not his own. His girlfriend also commented on it, telling him that it didn’t really look like him. It’s also given him a flattened and enlarged nose, and an elongated face. In fact, it’s a similar effect to a selfie taken on your front-facing phone camera.

Is an AI headshot right for you?
In trying to recreate a photo of a celebrity, in which case AI has hundreds of images to draw upon, the likeness may be very good. In the case of trying to create a photo for you, from a few photos supplied by you, it may not be as good. In fact, you might be better served by taking a selfie and editing it yourself. The result will probably be closer to real life than an AI composited headshot.
